DEFINITION: Service Distance in miles or kilometers on the service lane that goes from the last facility node to the customer. It does not include time at the service facility or any other upstream times. The service distance is not dependent on mode, it is always the driving distance for a route that an average truck would take between two points.
NOTES: The route is set to avoid ferries; however, when ferries are used, NDO will apply the convention used by Here.com to either include or exclude ferry distances in the route.
MANAGING: Service distance is an activity that can be edited in the interface under the lanes activity section or uploaded as an activity if "system generated" is set to 0.
