Definition

  • The objective provides the logic that determines how product is flowed through the supply chain network when there are multiple possible paths

How to set

  • When a solver is run, the objective is saved in the scenario

  • A user can manually change the objective by going to scenario selector>>scenario parameters (cog icon) and choosing from drop down.

Values

  • Landed cost--solves for a scenario that minimizes total landed cost

  • Service Time--solves to minimize the weighted service time to all customers

  • End to End Service Time--solves to minimize the weighted end to end service time to all customers

  • Emissions or CO2--Solve to minimize the total emissions of a supply chain

Logic

  • When a scenario has an objective set--all paths to customers (demand nodes) will be optimized to achieve that objective.

EXAMPLE:  If a customer has two inbound paths--the objective determines the optimum path.
