DEFINITION:  Service Time is the total time in days or hours that are on the service lane that goes from the last facility node to the customer.  It does not include time at the service facility or any other upstream times.  The service time is dependent on the mode.

FTL:  Road speed and road distance.

LTL:  Approximate delivery time derived from a sample of LTL carrier

   Parcel:  Published delivery times

Intermodal: Estimated delivery speeds (actuals are highly subject to variation given the nature of rail transportation)

   Ocean:  User input

WHAT IS A DAY?:  For FTL and FTL f(x) modes, an 8 hour driving day is considered to equal 1 day.  So a fraction of a day can be multiplied to 8 to get hours.  All other modes are whole days.

MANAGING: Service time is an activity that can be edited in the interface under the lanes activity section or uploaded as an activity.  When uploading, the "system generated" column must be set to 0.
