Definition
A node that serves as a source for product or a way-point through which product flows. A facility can have a number of attributes that include:
Supply - the ability to create a product and serve as the source node for a supply chain.
Activity - attributes in the form of cost, time, or distance that can be applied broadly or to individual products.
Capacity - a limit to the amount of flow through that facility that can likewise be applied broadly or to individual products.
A facility node cannot have demand.
Modeling Tips
If a facility has its own native demand, a customer can be created on the same location and connected to the facility node with a lane that can be set to 0 cost.
